PSelect softer surfaces (concrete is the enemy; prefer asphalt, grass, crushed granite)
PWarm-up and cool-down properly
PUse well-cushioned shoes
PAvoid over-training
PAvoid training in Houston heat; stay hydrated

PRun with a partner or in a group
PAvoid dark, wooded, isolated areas
PSTAY ALERT!  AVOID HEADPHONES!
PKnow the route
